A lifelong drummer from Georgetown, Hassan Jackson's musical journey. After studying West African and Caribbean traditions, he returned home to serve as a teaching artist for the SC Arts Commission. Hassan now focuses on educating youth, using his vast rhythmic knowledge to preserve Gullah heritage and share the soul of the conga within his community. For him, the drum is the essence of life.
